Needs analysis + comparative analysis: needs analysis of adult women’s mindset with respect to ICT, and comparative analysis of the results obtained in the various countries, which, owing to the great baseline differences, will provide a full picture of the types of needs and possible solutions to be applied when planning and organising courses and learning activities addressed to women and involving technologies; in depth biographic interviews will identify the prejudices, the stereotypes and the beliefs and knowledge framework, which stand in the way of ICT use by this population group, that is highly significant both in terms of numbers as well as influence on other population
groups, mostly young people (males and females) who take much from their mothers within the family ; since the interviews will include also some women with disabilities, the outputs will address also specific needs, interests, etc. |
A review of 5 magazines (3 targeting adult women and 2 the general public) in each of the 5 countries over the last 2 years to understand how technologies, and ICT in particular, are presented. Recurring schemes, terminology, images will be identified to understand if and how the image of technologies conveyed by these media contributes to inhibit or limit the use of technology by adult women .
