Great clip. Works exactly as advertised. It installs in about 2 minutes, if you’ve NEVER put one of these on. (It took me about two minutes to put my first one on, most of that was spent reading the easy-to-follow instructions!) I have two of these, now, one on my full-face helmet, and when I bought a half-helmet for a passenger a month later, I immediately bought a second clip for the new one too. Recently, I showed a friend who just bought a new motorcycle helmet how quick and easy the installation is. Having done it before, it now takes me about 10 seconds to put the clip back on the the helmet. (NO KIDDING!) If I bought another one of these, the most time-consuming part of the process is opening the packaging, which with a good pair of scissors or a knife… it really is that simple.

Yes, as has been observed, if can be a tad tough to get the thing clipped at first, just because it is possible to put one of the prongs in and have the other not catch. HOWEVER: once you get the hang of it, which only takes clipping and unclipping it a few times, clipping it only takes about 3 seconds. (This can even be done with the helmet off, which I recommend if this is your first time using it, practice a few times.) You grab the male end, holding the female end in your other hand, and insert the male end into the female end. Rather like buckling a seat belt. How long does THAT take? < << Pullll... CLICK! >>> This is WAY faster than using the D-rings.

If you’re wearing heavy or bulky gloves, okay, it might take a couple extra seconds to find and buckle. With gloves, it takes about three seconds to buckle, and 1 second to unbuckle. Without gloves, it takes about 1 second to buckle, and a half-second to unbuckle.

I highly recommend this, although if you have limited manual dexterity, there are other clips that might work better for you. This product would have gotten a fifth star out of me IF they’d made the mouth of the receiver slightly thicker front-back, so as to prevent accidental ALMOST clipping, (which if you do it, you’ll know it immediately) and if the male end were easier to adjust. Make sure you get a good solid click out of it when it clips. Again, after a few seconds of practice, you’ll fall absolutely in LOVE with this clip. Sliding the male end along the male side of the helmet strap is not as easy as it could be, but unless your head changes sizes often, you won’t need to adjust this much. The resistance it offers to sliding is probably a good thing anyway, though, because you don’t want it coming lose as you’re running down the road.

I’ve used a similar product, and while I liked it, I had some concerns about the strength of the closure. I definitely like the metal on metal connection. Once it is closed it feels very secure. I am sure it is stronger than my chin. My only issue is that it is a little difficult to get closed. With anything that you have to do blind, you have to do it a few times to get the feel for it so I think this will pass. Overall, I like it

I’ve bought the Echo quick release for each helmet I’ve purchased over the last 9 years. It is a solid product and works great. As another review states, it’s easy to operate while wearing gloves.

I have not decided if I’m going to keep using this product. It is everything it is advertised to be. My only problem is that it can be difficult to get the tab into the slot. I think it may be just as fast to use the D-rings. The release is very quick. I’m going to keep using it for the season to see if I get better at snapping it together.
